Understanding GNUWorld (X) Services
The Undernet CService architecture
NationCHAT runs GNUWorld channel services, where a single powerful service bot, X, oversees channel security and user privileges.
Unlike networks using NickServ where individual nicknames are reserved, NationCHAT lets anyone use any available nickname. Your security is anchored to your permanent Username. You can switch nicknames at any time while retaining full channel owner and operator privileges through your X account.
Channel Access Levels
When you own a channel or hold manager status, you can grant automated permissions to your friends and moderators using access levels:
Channel Manager (Owner)
Full control. Can add or remove any user level up to 499, modify channel settings, and set topic options.
Op Manager
Senior administrator. Can add or remove channel operators up to level 399, op/deop users, and manage bans.
Channel Operator
Standard channel op. Automatically receives operator status (+o) on join and can unban below their level.
Channel Voice
Helper / regular chatter. Automatically receives voice status (+v) on join, allowing them to speak in moderated (+m) channels.
No Access / Peon
Neutral status. Normal channel visitor with no special operator privileges.
Automated Kick / Ban
Blacklisted. Automatically kicked and banned by X immediately upon entering the channel.
Free 24/7 ZNC Bouncer Fleet
