Common questions about the free statistics service and the Butler stats bot.
What is the NationCHAT statistics service?
NationCHAT runs a free IRC statistics service for all channels on the network. Statistics are generated with pisg by Butler, the official stats bot, and published as public web pages for every registered channel.
How often are the statistics updated?
The service makes sure the stats generated through pisg are re-generated as often as possible. Because the service is free of charge, the intervals are usually between ten and twelve hours, depending on the amount of stats to be calculated.
How do I request statistics for my channel?
Request the Butler bot to generate statistics for your channel. Start from the Request page and follow the steps there — running bots in your channel with the stats commands configures most of the service automatically.
How do I change the language of my stats page?
Use the command $stats lang with the Butler stats bot. Sending "$stats lang" alone shows the list of supported languages, then choose one and the stats page is generated in that language.
How do I change the skin or layout?
$stats skin changes the channel message and "$stats skin" shows the full skin list, also available on the Layouts page. $stats layout changes the layout of the webstats itself.
Who controls the stats of my channel?
The channel master manages the stats. $stats addmaster adds a user as master of the channel and $stats delmaster removes master rights. User information can be checked with $stats whois.
How do I get the full list of commands?
Type $stats help in the bot channel to have Butler show the complete command help page, or visit the Stats Bot Commands page here on the website.
Do I need to pay for the statistics?
No. The statistics service is completely free of charge and available to all NationCHAT channels.
